Joey Spiotto for #Storytime2

Artist Joey Spiotto creates faux children book covers featuring characters from pop culture, movies and comics, depicted as children in play and having fun, and they are delightfully awesome. Launching his "Storytime 2" solo show at Gallery 1988 (East), his designs are now available to purchase online as (sized 8 x 10 inches) giclee prints … these two are specifically MAD MAX themed, with both and Little Miss Furosia and The Little Road Warriors each priced at US$35 per (limited edition of 50 / signed and numbered on back of print)

#JUNEkyard sketches by valleyDweller (#MonthofMax for #AlphaSketch)

"So I've been going through the English alphabet with an ink drawing for each letter, each month, switching the theme. I couldn't resist doing 26 Mad Max: Fury Road fan art pieces. Other than #AlphaSketch, I've been trying to come up with a hashtag for each series, and this one is month six, so I'm filing these under #JUNEkyard.

Most are done during my commute to or from work, stuck on the train for an hour. I sometimes sneak in some polish time during lunch or at home. They're all 6x6" bristol with Pentel brush pen and correction fluid pens."
-shared Jeremy Dale AKA valleyDweller (Artwork featured here today are the first 7; A to G).
We've previously seen Jeremy's works featured for #Inktober 2014 and his custom works, and I am utterly jazzed that he had chosen to initiate drawing themes for himself with this!

Keh Choon Wee Does Mad Max Fury Road

Artworks by local artist Keh Choon Wee featuring denizens of Fury Road "Furiosa" (above), "Nux" and "The Vuvalinis" (the rock-n-roll grannies on motorbikes!) - done for the Mad Max Fury Road contest on Art Jammers SG on Facebook. Caught the movie yesterday, loved it to bits! Here's hoping K makes these fanart into prints or include it in his annual sketchbook!

Start your engines…

I don't know how to adequately describe watching Mad Max Fury Road … it's like having a part of the gnawing emptiness I feel within me suddenly flooded with tears of salvation, drowning in joyous aplomb, back of the neck since branded with a smiley face by an invisible red hot poker, hence redeeming whatever lost hope I had of my reel soul.

On this day, I start thee madmaxwww, to share my joy(s) with fellow survivors out there … Start your engines…
